Mr. Ricky Chan

Ricky has been honored with a Master’s degree in Education and Educational Research Methodology from the University of Western Australia, and has recently been awarded a Master of Applied Neuroscience by KCL, University of London.

He is the Chairman of the Association of Brain-based Learning in Education and served as the project manager, principal trainer, guest speaker, part-time tutor and education consultant of different sections of Education Bureau, Tertiary Institutions, Kindergartens, Primary and Secondary Schools in Hong Kong.

Dr Lap Yan Chan (Eric)

Dr.Eric completed his Doctorate degree in Sensor Science and Cognitive Psychology in October 2023. His research and thesis focused on occupants monitoring using automotive sensors and artificial intelligence for autonomous vehicles.

Ms. Chesta Chan

Ms. Chesta Chan is a Researcher of Brain Quotient and Neurofeedback Technology Center (BQNF) Headquarters Research and Professional Support team. She is also a Training Consultant of BQNF Kwun Tong Center.

In 2012, she was selected as the student representative for her graduating class and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Upper Iowa University. Her experience as student research assistant allows her to work with children comfortably, especially those with Special Education Needs.

While serving BQNF, she participated in the training workshops and achieved the Foundation Level of Brain-Based Education Pedagogy directed by the Institute of Brain and Mind Education. In 2013, she was certified in Electroencephalogram Brain Quotient Analysis & Neurofeedback Training Certificate offered by Brain Quotient and Neurofeedback Technology Center. She also completed some Graphology and Physiotherapy related courses during 2016 to 2017.

Mr. Francis Tse

A father of a young tween girl. Mr. Tse graduated in Public Administration and Management. He has been working as a facilitator of students’ formation programmers since 1997. He has completed series of trainings provided by BQNF and has been certified by the center as a BQNF consultant. Deeply impressed by the development of brain-based teaching and parenting, he adopted relevant knowledge and strategies in both daily teaching and parenting.

Ms. Chesta Chan

Ms. Chesta Chan is a Researcher of Brain Quotient and Neurofeedback Technology Center (BQNF) Headquarters Research and Professional Support team. She is also a Training Consultant of BQNF Kwun Tong Center.

Ms. Janice Shui

Ms. Janice Shui is the center supervisor of Brain Quotient and Neurofeedback Technology Center (BQNF) Kwun Tung Center. She joined BQNF in July 2017. She graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology in 2013 and obtained a master degree from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Applied Psychology in diverse learning needs (DLN) in 2015. She is also a graduate member of Hong Kong Psychological Society (HKPS). She is equipped with knowledge of ASD, ADHD, SpLD, DCD etc.

Her work experience as a tutor, English teaching assistant, course coordinator, and project officer involved developing solid knowledge in managing academic classes, interests’ class, leadership courses, and labour retraining courses in primary schools, educational management company or community centers. With her knowledge plus rich work experience from psychology field and managing SEN related courses, she believes she can help more students and adults in needs to develop their characters and potential positively.

Senior Trainers

Ms. Katie Hui

Ms. Katie Hui graduated from Zhejiang Sci-Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology in 2017. She becomes a team member of Brain Quotient and Neurofeedback Technology Center (BQNF) and works as full-time trainer in BQNF Kwun Tong Center since September 2017.

During the period of undergraduate study, she worked in the psychological committee and was responsible for the mental health counseling of the other students, helping them to solve their psychological problems and regulate their moods. She also participated in the volunteer teaching program, tutoring children’s lessons, teaching interesting knowledge to stimulate their imagination and creativity. All of these experiences enhanced her skills in getting along with teenagers and children. She hopes to be able to make good use of her knowledge skills and educational experience to help students improve their brain performance, self-control and unleash their potential through Neurofeedback technology.

Mr. Freddy Chiu

Mr. Freddy Chiu successfully graduated from University College London (UCL) in MSc Cognitive Neuroscience 2018, he rejoined the team of Brain Quotient and Neurofeedback Technology Center (BQNF) in September 2019. He is now a full-time senior trainer, consultant and researcher in BQNF Kwun Tong Center.

He was employed as a BQNF neurofeedback trainer since 2015 and encountered over hundreds cases including SEN students, adults suffering from anxiety and the elderly with dementia throughout this two-year work. The stories behind his trainees motivated him to pursuit further study in brain science, which aimed to address numerous cognitive problems from their origin – the brain. During his master’s study, he has completed his research in the neural mechanism of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and closely kept track of the latest development of neuroimaging technology, which hopes to maximize the effectiveness of nowadays neurofeedback training and its concepts. His passion is to positively support more families or clients to overcome brain disorders induced challenges more effectively.

Miss Aria Wong

Ms. Aria Wong graduated from San Jose State University in the USA in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology. She became a team member of the Brain Quotient and Neurofeedback Technology Center (BQNF) and has been a full-time trainer at the BQNF Kwun Tong Center since October 2023.
During her undergraduate studies, she faced three years of epidemics and isolation, which heightened her awareness of the importance of human interactions and communication. Consequently, she values her current role, which involves using technology and brain-scanning equipment to assist children and their parents with diverse personalities, abilities, and learning needs.
Before her time at BQNF, she tutored children and led water sports classes like swimming and canoeing. By helping in the family restaurant business and gaining experience interacting with children, she discovered her passion for children’s education. In the future, she aims to apply her knowledge to help students improve their cognitive performance, strengthen their self-control skills, and unlock their potential using Neurofeedback technology.

Half-time/Part-time Trainers

Ms. Carol Yeung

Ms. Carol Yeung joined Brain Quotient and Neurofeedback Technology Center (BQNF) in November 2017 and being a part-time trainer assistant in Kwun Tong Center.

She is a full-time student at The Open University of Hong Kong major in Psychology since 2019. She aims to learn psychological knowledge which is related to the brain. She also hopes to associate her knowledge with neurofeedback training to help trainees to improve their relaxation, attention and concentration problem, hence, to raise the brain performance efficiently.

Mr. Kert Wan

Mr. Kert Wan graduated from the Y.W.C.A. Hioe Tjo Yoeng College in 2018. He becomes a team member of Brain Quotient and Neurofeedback Technology Center (BQNF) and works as part-time trainer assistant in BQNF Kwun Tong Center since July 2018.

In 2018, he starts to study the BA (Hons) International Business Communication with Japanese at the School of Continuing and Professional Education, City University of Hong Kong, intending to promote neurofeedback technology to the public.

Mr. Paul Chau

Mr. Paul Chau joined Brain Quotient and Neurofeedback Technology Center (BQNF) in August 2019 and being a part-time trainer in Kwun Tong Center. He graduated in social work from Caritas College of Higher Education in 2020. During his two internships, he organized group activities and took care of the daily life of boarders in special schools. He also provided counseling services for elders in nursing homes, and held activities for people with dementia.

He believes that everyone has individual talents, so he expects to use the learned skills and experience to assist each participant to complete the Neurofeedback training. In this way, they can improve their learning motivation and self-confidence, achieving their goals of different stages of growth.

Mr. William Li

Mr. William Li graduated from Tung Wah College with a Bachelor of Social Science in Applied Psychology in 2018. He becomes a team member of Brain Quotient and Neurofeedback Technology Center (BQNF) Kwun Tong Center since early 2019. He works as a full time trainer since July 2020.

He began to take an interest in early childhood education and special education while attending educational psychology classes during university. Thus, he attended courses to become a registered early child practitioner in 2016 to deepen his understanding in early child education. He used to be a teaching assistant in STEM courses; tutor of children fitness courses in playgroups; student guidance and discipline personnel in NGO community center. The above experiences made him an experienced early child practitioner.Enriched with his child education experience, he hopes to help them make positive changes to their academic and personal achievements through neurofeedback training.

Mr. Freddy Chiu

Mr. Jonathan Cheung

Mr. Jonathan Cheung is the Center Manager of BQNF Mong Kok Center. He received EEG Brainwave Analysis and Brain Quotient Report Consultation Certification offered by the Institute of Brain and Mind Education in 2013.

As increasing successful cases with neurofeedback training come into view, Mr. Cheung believes that Neurofeedback can help a wide range of people (from kids to elder people) who are suffering from Dementia, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, ADD, Autism, etc.

Mr. Cheung is a father of a 6-year-old boy; he has experienced in bringing his child to the center for training three times a week. He knows that in order to enhance the training quality, the staffs and the training environment is very important. Mr. Cheung and his team promised to have close follow up to each client, and are committed to maintain good training environment so that each student/trainee gets the maximum benefits.

Operations Director and Center Manager

Mr. Ron Ng

Mr. Ron Ng is a qualified consultant of Brian Quotient and Neurofeedback Technology Center (BQNF). He is also an ACCA Certified Accountant. In 2010, he was awarded the Degree of Master Science (Finance) with Honours by the University College Dublin – National University of Ireland, Dublin.

As an accountant, Mr. Ng is good in analysis and provides solutions. He only believes things with scientific support. He learns that EEG Brain Analysis could help parents to understand what cause the pattern of certain behaviour. Also Neurofeedback Training is an efficient and cutting-edge technology to enhance learning ability and improve temper tantrum.

Mr. Ng is a father of two daughters. He likes to share his thoughts on how to bring up children with parents.

Executive Director

Ms. Francisca Lau

Francisca Lau is a mother of 2 daughters. When her daughters were still in the kindergarten, she joined the school’s Parent-Teacher Association and was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Joint School PTA (formed by 17 schools). She was actively involved in organizing different types of school events e.g. parents’ talk, AGM and activities for over 1000 participants like walkathon, Park Orienteering, etc.

She believes that all children are unique and the adults should always appreciate and encourage their children. She wants her children to have good character, self-esteem and confidence rather than just attaining good academic results. After she joined the workshops conducted by Institute of Brain and Mind Education and completed the Electroencephalogram Brain Analysis & Neurofeedback Training course, she realized that Neurofeedback training & Brain-Based Learning could optimize one’s brain function, she started to promote such concepts and technology to people around her.

She works part-time in the New Tsuen Wan Center, mainly to organize activities and provide administration advices.

Full Time Trainers

Ms. Rachel Shum

Rachel graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Art (Honours) in Applied Psychology. Her academic interest is Neuropsychology. She joined the team of Brain Quotient and Neurofeedback Technology Center (BQNF) in June of the same year, and now is a full time trainer in BQNF Tsuen Wan Center.

Through studying neuropsychology and child psychology in the university, she possessed the knowledge of how the brain works and the problems that children may face in different developmental stages. Rachel’s specialized academic background enables her to assist and facilitate the neurofeedback training, successfully support many trainees to improve or overcome their behavioral; emotional, and/or learning difficulties. She believes that every single child is unique and embeds with own special potential. They all can be brilliant as long as efficient, appropriate assistance and guidance are provided.

Mr. Kwan Tang

He graduated in Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honors in Psychology from The Open University of Hong Kong in 2013. During his bachelor course, he worked as a primary school tutor and a teacher of extracurricular activities. He enjoys spending time with children and he is good at communicating and establishing positive relationship with them.

He joined BQNF in 2015, works as a full-time trainer in Tsuen Wan Centre. He believes that children’s improvement in study is undoubtedly one of the most concerned aspects for parents in the mainstream Hong Kong. However, he values other essential elements in childhood developments, including multiple interests, creative thinking, and proper emotion regulations, etc. All these elements play key-roles in childhood development and, of course, childhood happiness. By joining BQNF, he hopes that by mastering the knowledge, skills and concepts of neurofeedback training, he uses this new technology to help children improve their learning, behavioral and emotional problems, hence establishing better family relationships fostering healthy all-rounded growth for children.
